The writing in this game, the mechanics, the decision making, the effects of your decisions — this is a huge evolution for Obsidian. I would say this is a better experience than Fallout New Vegas, if not for the max level issue.
I will say I'm quite liking what I'm seeing here. Like for me, the biggest problem with the original Outer Worlds was always Yeah, just the worlds were way too bloody small. But yeah, this is just, you know, the starting world and it feels big and interesting and worth exploring. So yeah, this feels like a nice step up over the original Outer Worlds to me.
Yeah, this is looking very solid. There are lots of fun interactions between skills and traits and things you've said to characters previously, items you've picked up, etc., etc., which is the hallmark of a really good, fun, engaging RPG.

Overall, I'm having a really good time and the game is really polished besides the two crashes I found... I'm really enjoying it. I'm really liking it and I can't wait to play more.
Overall though, Outer Worlds 2 is still a pretty good time. It's an actual role-playing game compared to certain other titles I've recently played. It looks good, the combat is fun, and the writing isn't hamfisted. So, yes, I do think it's worth checking out.

I think this is surprisingly promising. Because at least roughly 10 hours in here, it looks like they took a lot of the Outer Worlds one's systems and really made great changes and improvements to those systems.

if I was going out to purchase this one... I'd probably say you might want to wait a little while
the Outerorlds 2 preview was good. It was enjoyable, but it was very, very safe.
