Privacy Policy
This page explains what data we collect when you visit StreamerTakes ("the site"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The site is a static, source-linked archive of public game commentary — we do not run user accounts and we do not accept user-generated content.
1. Who we are
The site is operated by StreamerTakes ("we", "us"). You can contact us at contact@example.com for any privacy question, including data subject requests.
2. What we collect
- Server access logs. Our CDN (Cloudflare) records request metadata such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer, and user-agent string. These logs are retained for a short period for security and abuse monitoring.
- Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate usage: pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device class, and how you arrived. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.
- Advertising (only with your consent). If you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense may set cookies and use device signals to show ads — including personalized ads — and to measure ad performance and prevent fraud.
- Consent preference. Your cookie choice is captured and stored by Google Funding Choices (Google's IAB-certified Consent Management Platform) so you are not re-prompted on every visit. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time on the Settings page.
- Streamer preferences. If you mark creators as preferred or hidden on the Settings page, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the site can re-apply it on your next visit. It never leaves your device.
3. Legal basis (EEA / UK visitors)
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for analytics and advertising cookies.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for short-term server logs used to keep the site secure and operational.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The site itself does not set any tracking cookies. Consent is collected by Google Funding Choices — a Google-operated, IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) registered Consent Management Platform. Third-party scripts may set cookies only after you accept:
-
Google Analytics 4 — sets identifiers (
_ga,_ga_*) to distinguish unique browsers. Configured with IP anonymization and Google Consent Mode v2. - Google AdSense — sets identifiers used to deliver ads and measure performance. AdSense may share data with Google's advertising partners listed in the Google partner policy.
-
Cloudflare — may set a short-lived
__cf_bmcookie for bot management. This is a security cookie and is set regardless of your analytics/ads choice.
You can revisit your choice any time on the Settings page, which reopens the Google Funding Choices dialog. You can also clear all cookies via your browser settings.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. The following processors receive data on our behalf when relevant:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — site hosting, CDN, DDoS protection.
- Google LLC — consent management (Funding Choices), analytics (GA4), and advertising (AdSense), where you have consented.
Some of these processors operate outside the European Economic Area. They rely on the relevant EU/UK transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international data transfers.
6. Retention
Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days. Google Analytics retains user-level and event-level data for the period configured in the GA property (default: 14 months). Advertising cookies expire based on Google's defaults. Your consent preference persists in your browser until you clear it.
7. Your rights
If you are in the EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar rights, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of that data.
- Withdraw consent at any time on the Settings page.
- Object to processing or request restriction.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@example.com.
8. Children
The site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes that affect cookie usage will trigger a renewed consent prompt.
10. Contact
