overall I liked it. I like any survival RPG that leans into being painful... it needs some polish passes and probably some refinements to some of its systems to keep the flow of the game moving. But let him cook. I like what Merkurk has going on.

Mirklurk: Every Step Matters’26
The Consensus: Is It Worth Playing?
Mirklurk: Every Step Matters is a survival RPG set in The Mirk, a hostile swampland where players must constantly manage hunger, fatigue, warmth, and inventory across randomly generated terrain. Combat uses a puzzle-like system with distinct weapon attack patterns, and the world mixes procedural generation with handcrafted locations, characters, and events.

I have an appreciation for any RPG that sticks its neck out there and just tries to be a wholly unique product. And that's exactly what Merkurk is.
