The Consensus: Is It Worth Playing?

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is a Wii-exclusive port of the original Dead Rising developed by Tose using the Resident Evil 4 Wii engine, in which players survive a mall overrun by zombies using an over-the-shoulder gunplay system. Compared to the Xbox 360 original, the port reduces the on-screen zombie count and removes the photography mechanic.

Dead Rising on the Wii is a fine little game, warts and all. What starts out as a genuinely interesting little novelty kind of overstays its welcome. Even though a lot of what makes Dead Rising special isn't present in this port, I kind of love it for what it tries to do.
